San Miguel de Salinas is a quiet, charming, traditional Spanish village without the noise and bustle of discos and night life.
There are dozens of cosy facilities for food and drinks, 2 supermarkets, a bakery, a Belgian butcher’s, a pharmacist, hospital and dentist.
The local street market is a weekly colourful event on Wednesdays.
It is popular among locals as well as tourists from the nearby villages.
San Miguel de Salinas is situated on a hill overviewing the salt lakes of Torrevieja and La Mata and and is surrounded by orchards and hills.
The landscape is covered with quaint villages, lemon and palm trees and (salt) lakes, the habitat of flamingo birds.
Situated on the west side of the village, you can find the reservoir of Pedrera
with its blue and clear waters and the mountains of the Sierra Escalona and la Pena, a trecking and biker’s paradise.
The beach is a 10 minutes’ drive away. Beautiful golden beaches alternate with sheltered bays and cliffs and together form a beautiful coast line.
If you want to visit a more touristic area, the bigger city of Torrevieja is only a 5 minutes’ drive away.
If you like shopping the commercial centre of 'La Zenia Boulevard' the local
markets are the place to be. Dayly La Zenia opens its doors to 150 shops and
restaurants and has ample parking space.

Nearby San Miguel de Salinas you can play golf at Golf de Campoamor, Las
Ramblas in Orihuela and Villamartin.
You can also do any water sports like sailing , canoeing, diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing and fishing.
At the Mar Menor you can relax on beautiful beaches and salt lakes. Take a mudBath,
let yourself dry up and take a dive into the salt lake, which is a relaxing
